The essential desert moment, done simply: ride a camel past the palm groves of Mhamid at the end of the day, climb the first low dunes and watch the sun sink into the Sahara from a quiet ridge. It is the same experience at the heart of our longer tours, trimmed into a perfect two-hour evening.

You meet your local guide in Mhamid about an hour and a half before sunset. The camels are calm, the pace is gentle, and the whole ride takes roughly one hour out and back — plenty of time for photos as the light turns gold, pink and then deep orange.

How the trip runs

1. Departure

   Meet your guide in Mhamid

   We collect you from your hotel in Mhamid and walk to the camels, about an hour and a half before sunset.

2. Ride

   Through the palm groves

   The camels set a calm pace out of the village and over the first low dunes.

3. Sunset

   Sunset from the dunes

   You stop on a dune with a view to the west and stay for the sunset.

4. Return

   Back to Mhamid

   The ride back in the fading light ends at your hotel in Mhamid.
