About this tour

The classic desert night, starting with a sunset camel ride into Erg Chebbi and ending with breakfast at dawn in the dunes. You sleep in a comfortable tented camp among the highest sand dunes in Morocco, with dinner, fire and music under a sky crowded with stars.

Everything is taken care of: your guide collects you from your hotel in Merzouga late in the afternoon, rides with you to the camp as the sun goes down, and brings you back the next morning after breakfast. Tents are shared, with mattresses, blankets and cushions, and there is a clean shared toilet block at the camp.

How the trip runs

1. 4:00 PM

   Pickup in Merzouga

   Your guide collects you from your hotel with the camels ready.

2. Sunset

   Ride into the dunes

   A one-hour camel ride into Erg Chebbi, stopping to watch the sunset from the sand.

3. Evening

   Dinner at the camp

   A dinner of Moroccan tagine served at the camp, followed by tea and music around the fire.

4. Night

   Sleep in the dunes

   Tents with mattresses and blankets. Bring a warm layer — the desert cools quickly after dark.

5. Dawn

   Sunrise and breakfast

   Early breakfast with a view, then a relaxed camel ride back to Merzouga.
